Nate Diaz vs Michael Johnson booked at Dec 19th

Controversial UFC lightweight Nate Diaz will return to the octagon after more than a year to fight Michael Johnson at UFC on FOX 17 in Florida.

The lightweight bout will air on the FOX-televised main card of the Dec. 19 event at Orlando’s Amway Center. Broadcast plans for the preliminary card have yet to be announced.

Diaz (17-10 MMA, 12-8 UFC) will try to break out of a 1-3 slump in his past four fights against Johnson (16-9 MMA, 8-5 UFC). Diaz last competed at UFC on FOX 13 in December, where he suffered a lopsided unanimous decision loss to current 155-pound champion Rafael dos Anjos. That fight marked a return to competition after a 13-month layoff.
