The headline title bout in Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Montreal has been cancelled, after reigning bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw was injured during training camp.
A UFC official confirmed Tuesday that Dillashaw (11-2) suffered a fractured rib and has been forced to withdraw from his April 25 title defence at UFC 186 versus Brazilian Renan Barao (33-2, 1 NC) at Montreal’s Bell Centre.
The official said the company was still trying to figure out what Dillashaw’s absence means for the top of the card. It was not immediately known if Barao would compete at UFC 186 or if he would also be pulled from the event.
