Top UFC light heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier has been named a permanent cohost of “UFC Tonight,” officials today announced.
Cormier will cohost the UFC’s officially weekly news program, which airs on FOX Sports 1. The 35-year-old has frequently cohosted in the past.
Cormier joins cohost Kenny Florian on the show and becomes the official replacement of former cohost/UFC vet Chael Sonnen. The UFC and FOX cut ties with Sonnen in June after a pair of failed drug tests.
“I love being a part of UFC on FOX family and extending my mixed martial arts career,” Cormier stated. “The TV analyst role is exciting, fun and actually improves my fighting skills, because I see the action so differently now. I look forward to working with the team each week on ‘UFC Tonight’ and vow to bring the light heavyweight title belt with me to the desk in January.”
