Burkman (27-10 MMA, 5-5 UFC), who signed a new contract with the promotion earlier today after leaving WSOF, will meet Hector Lombard (34-4-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) at UFC 182. UFC President Dana White tweeted news of the booking on Friday night.
UFC 182 takes place Jan. 3 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defends his title against Daniel Cormier, and in the co-main event, women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey is expected to face Cat Zingano.
There was no official word yet on where Burkman-Lombard will be placed on the card, but a spot on the pay—per-view’s main card is likely.
