That smokescreen cleared on Wednesday night, however, when Ortiz made a surprise appearance at Bellator 97 on Spike TV with the promotion revealing that Rampage and Ortiz would be the ones fighting in Bellator’s first pay-per-view main event, and that it would happen on Nov. 2 in Long Beach, Calif.
Ortiz followed that surprise appearance with a repeat performance on Thursday night’s episode of Impact, the professional wrestling program that served as lead-in programming to Bellator’s first season on Spike.
