Former UFC flyweight No. 1 contender John Dodson has suffered a serious knee injury and is out of a UFC on Fox 9 bout with Scott Jorgensen.
Sherdog.com learned of the injury on Tuesday evening from a source close to the fighter. Dodson hurt his knee during training at Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, N.M., on Tuesday morning and was taken to the hospital almost immediately, according to the source.
No further details regarding the severity of the injury were available. The promotion officially announced that Dodson was out of his Dec. 14 matchup with Jorgensen later on Tuesday night.
