Former WWE star and 43-year-old MMA newcomer Dave Bautista won his professional fighting debut on Saturday night.
Bautista (1-0), who didn’t have an opponent secured until five days before the event, ultimately scored a TKO victory over replacement and MMA journeyman Vince Lucero (22-23-1).
“I think the nerves got the best of me a little bit,” Bautista told guest interviewer Joe Lauzon. “He hits like a f—ing horse. He rocked me. I didn’t have my legs under me coming out because I was so nervous.”
“I want to fight again for sure,” he said. “I think it was a matter of getting this first one out of the way. The guys will tell you I was so nervous and had so many butterflies coming out that I think he got the best of me a little bit. I’m better than I showed tonight.”
